See what assistant principals, instructional specialists, school system administrators, and students are saying about ClassScape!

Michael Foust

Assistant Principal

Denton Elementary School

”At Denton Elementary, ClassScape has been a very positive tool for our intermediate grades teachers! The ability to customize benchmark assessments has provided teachers with the tools to share meaningful data, adjust instruction, and align lesson plans with the Standard Course of Study. Teachers spend less time hoping students are prepared and wondering where they need help. Greater emphasis has been placed not only on content standards, but also on differentiating instruction and targeting at-risk students before the End-of-Grade Tests arrive at year’s end. Planning time has been utilized so that all teachers on a grade level can meet and design customized quarterly assessments so that quarterly goals are clearly in their minds and in instruction. ClassScape graphs and data provide immediate feedback and a clear picture of where each student is performing and where teachers need to guide instruction as well as provide specific details when conferring with parents about students’ progress.“

Rebecca Cox

Instructional Specialist

Wilkes County Schools

” Our 3rd–5th grade teachers use ClassScape assessments weekly, quarterly and at some points during the year, daily! As we looked at our budget, or lack of..., ClassScape was one item our teachers would not give up. The data provided by ClassScape ensures our instruction is data driven. We use the reports for curriculum planning, professional learning discussions and meeting the needs of all learners. “

Mark Freeman

Director of Testing

Nash-Rocky Mount Schools

”The 2008–2009 school year was the second year that NRMPS was a part of the ClassScape family. We use ClassScape in all 28 of our schools and at each grade level/subject area that is offered. I feel our usage has grown along with ClassScape’s ever expanding features. Utilizing ClassScape has helped our teachers to become more familiar with expectations concerning the curriculum and it has also assisted in increasing rigor in order for students to be successful on state and local assessments. ClassScape is used during daily teacher instruction, student homework, data monitoring of students’ strengths and weaknesses, multiple district benchmarks, and for remediation. Teachers and administers have found that the data generated from ClassScape assessments to be key in leading effective grade and building level PLCs (professional learning communities) to drive instruction. To summarize our LEA’s view of ClassScape I’d like to quote one of our successful principal’s comments to her staff, ‘that it was professional negligence to have an awesome tool like ClassScape and not to utilize it.’

The software has been great to work with and is very user friendly. However, I think it’s more impressive the lengths to which the ClassScape team (from the program manager to the technicians) goes to meet our changing needs. I want to thank you for all your time and help through the past school years and for the years to come.”

Darlene Carrigan

Director of Student Services and Elementary Curriculum

Alexander County Schools

”This year was Alexander County’s second year using ClassScape.  Our second year has been MUCH more successful than the first year. As teacher's have become more familiar with the program and are realizing the extent of what they can do with the program, more and more of them are beginning to utilize the program for formative assessments of their students. Many teachers have become avid users of the online assessments (particularly in mathematics) as a means of identifying areas of strength and weakness for their classes and for individual students. Having the assessment results immediately via their class and individual student reports has helped them quickly identify areas in need of re-teaching or remediation. When using the objective quizzes as pretests, they have been able to better tailor their lessons to their children's needs. Teachers using the program have been able to differentiate their instruction for small groups or individuals in a much more targeted manner than ever before.

As a result of being able to implement these enhanced targeted interventions, we have been able to significantly improve our EOG scores for all upper elementary grades. I now have principals and teachers who are inquiring as to whether we are going to be able to have access to ClassScape again this coming year and saying that they really value having the program as a tool to help them target their instruction.“

Steven Hill

Secondary Education Department

Lenoir County Public Schools

“We are working with ClassScape data to identify our best instructional techniques and build a common language among staff members. As we discover our high points we also self-realize our areas of needed improvement. The data is teacher produced, therefore it is non-threatening in nature and allows for progressive professional learning communities to develop. We are in our third year of using ClassScape and are currently using the rich data to build teacher planning groups and provide students the ability to track their own learning progress. We hope to eventually get to a place where we are assessing for learning instead of assessing what was learned. ClassScape will be a big part of this paradigm shift in teaching.”
